Our Future Views program is divided into 3 distinct views: Green Views, Social Views and Clean Views.Together they represent our commitment to our island and our planet.
Green Views
Where caring meets nature.
Aware that our sector can have a significant impact on the environment, we have taken on our responsibility with a serious commitment and a set of practical measures. We are constantly learning and evolving, continuously adapting our processes, the technology we use, and the way we operate. We maintain the Green Key certification, a programme that promotes Sustainable Tourism in Portugal and recognises establishments that implement environmentally responsible practices. We are also certified according to the ISO 14001 standard, the most prestiged and recognized international benchmark.

Meets your sustainable habits.
We promote a responsible stay and visit to our guests, with respect for the localMadeiran, its customs, traditions and environmental heritage. We ask them to respect the guidelines of local authorities, not to pollute the environment and wherever possible to use public transport. The fauna in Madeira Island plays an important role in the balance of nature and often triggers the curiosity of visitors. We promote the respect of the natural landscape and the species habitat so that we can all live in harmony. We have implemented some measures in order for the guests to contribute themselves for a sustainable stay and a reduced ecological footprint.
Recycling Bins
All rooms have recycling bins available
and guests can also find them in common areas.
Choose your Cleaning
This pioneering initiative rewards guests who want to join our environmental cause, by dispensing the usual cleaning of the room on a certain number of days(however we guarantee the minimum services), and receiving a reward to be redeemed on internal consumption. This measure saves water, energyand detergents.
*On days when the guest chooses not to clean the room, we always guarantee minimum services.
Towel Exchange Policy
We advise our customers to reuse pool towels.However, it is up to the guest to decide whether to keep the towel and reduce their ecological footprint, or to exchange the towel for a fee of €1, which will go entirely to a local charity institution.

ISO 14001
ISO 14001 certification demonstrates the organization’s concern for protecting the environment. It establishes requirements for an effective environmental management system to monitor a company’s activities, with a special focus on pollution prevention, ensuring compliance with all legislation and other socio-economic needs.
Green Key
The Green Key certificate is one of the main standards of excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. This eco-label represents a commitment by companies to the strict criteria established by the Foundation for Environmental Education.

Clean Views
Where caring meets protection.
In 2020, The Views developed a Hygiene and Safety program with prevention, control and monitoring procedures to comply with all WHO guidelines in the fight against COVID-19. Our hotels are certified with the Clean & Safe Seal awarded by Turismo de Portugal. But this program was specially designed for our guests, so that they feel safe and cared for. Our mission from 2020 onwards is also to ensure that everyone can enjoy their holidays and fully enjoy their The Views experience, minimising disruptions and inconveniences.
Cleaning products criteria:
- They must have a registration number from the National Chemistry Laboratory (in accordance with the legal requirements of Directive EC/648/2004 on the biodegradability of surfactant components, 60% primary biodegradability, allergenic ingredients, colors, labels, etc.);
- Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) developed and tested in accordance with the recent REACH regulation, in force since 2007;
- All disinfectants must have EOF authorization according to EU Directive /528/2012;
- Priority will be given to the use of more concentrated products via automatic dosing systems (easier handling and storage, less waste, better results).
